SEYMOUR, Ind.- The Seymour Police Department (SPD) arrested an Indianapolis man for alleged robbery, public intoxication, and public indecency at a Circle K on Wednesday morning, March 25.

Just before 4 a.m., SPD responded to the Circle K  at 2119 E. Tipton St. in reference to a nude man who had entered the store and gone behind the counter.

Because of the situation, the clerk went to the office and locked the door. When officers arrived, they found a naked male near the counter attempting to drink an alcoholic beverage.

They took him into custody and determined that he was probably under the influence of something. Upon reviewing the video, police observed the man enter the store with no clothes on, and allegedly take cigarettes and a lighter, consume alcohol, and bust other alcoholic beverage containers on the floor.

As a result of the investigation, Joseph P. Dupree III, 43, of Indianapolis, was arrested, taken to Jackson County Jail, and charged with:

  • Robbery (Level 5 felony)
  • Theft (Level 6 felony)
  • Criminal mischief (Class B misdemeanor)
  • Public intoxication (Class C misdemeanor)
  • Public indecency (Class A misdemeanor)
