Seymour students can sign up now for Mayor's Youth Council

SEYMOUR, Ind. - Local high school students are needed to join the Mayor’s Youth Council for 2026-27. Applications are available to incoming 9th-12th graders at Seymour High School, Trinity Lutheran High School, Sandy Creek Christian Academy, and home-schooled students.

Interested students can request an application by emailing mayor@seymourin.org or can follow this link to fill out a Google form.

The youth council operates as an advisory board to the mayor on issues affecting young people in the community.

Applicants need to be able to commit to attending most, if not all, youth council meetings during the upcoming school year.

Youth Council members will take part in city meetings, tour city facilities, hear from guest speakers, and participate in other leadership activities. Students will establish connections and learn how networking can help accomplish tasks and goals.
