COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Police Department (CPD) officers and an off duty Bartholomew County Deputy arrested Robert Schonfeld, 64, of Flat Rock, over the weekend on multiple charges.
On Sunday evening, CPD received a call of a possible impaired motorcyclist on 25th Street. An off duty deputy observed the bike and with the assistance of other law enforcement personnel, Schonfeld was forced to stop and pull over. A breath test reported a Br.A.C. of .125%.
Police say that the suspect later advanced towards the officers and struck one of them before having to be restrained. Also, while searching his clothing, police allegedly found a large bag of marijuana.
Schonfeld was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of battery on a public safety official, possession of marijuana, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
