INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Troopers from the Indiana State Police (ISP) are joining nearly 230 law-enforcement agencies across the Hoosier state, and thousands throughout the country, for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over mobilization.

From mid-August through Labor Day, police will be working overtime to find and arrest impaired drivers. The campaign includes increased sobriety checkpoints, roving patrols, and saturation patrols.

“Any person who gets behind the wheel after drinking alcohol or consuming an illegal substance puts everyone on the road in extreme danger,” said ISP Lt. Jeff Payne. “Every person traveling on Indiana roadways has an expectation of safety, it is our goal to increase that safety through high visibility patrols.”

Overtime patrols are supported with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration funds distributed by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
