Commissioners choose to close Marr Road for air show

COLUMBUS, Ind. – It was a quick meeting, compared to the last few weeks, for the Bartholomew County Commissioners on Monday morning. Despite the swift meeting, the commissioners did get some business accomplished.

A request to close a portion of Marr Road for the Columbus Birds and Brews air show on September 18 was approved. With the amount of traffic that comes through Marr Road, the commissioners said they would prefer to keep it open but decided to make an exception for this situation. The road will close between the intersections of Poshard Drive and County Road 450N, on the day of the show, Wednesday, September 18, from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m.

The commissioners also okayed an annual expense of $4,122.34 for maintenance on the battery backup for the 911 center, another $6350 for a new mower for the park board.
