North Vernon man arrested after giving false name


COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Police officers arrested Larry Evans, 23, of North Vernon after they discovered a warrant for his arrest and he falsely identified himself.

Thursday evening, around 7:30 p.m., CPD officers responded to an apartment in the 4000 block of North County Road 150 West in regards to a loud music complaint. After they arrived in the area, they reportedly saw Evans outside of an apartment. Police say that after speaking with Evans, he falsely identified himself, but they were still able to determine his identity and confirm a warrant for his arrest in Bartholomew County. Evans was taken into custody and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of false informing and a county warrant.
