INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Large-scale COVID-19 testing is coming soon, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb announced on Tuesday. OptumServe Federal Health Services will open several sites in the next week to begin large-scale testing.

“Launching this partnership with OptumServe expands Indiana’s COVID-19 testing capacity,” said Gov. Holcomb. “These free tests will be available across the state, ensuring more Hoosiers can get tested for coronavirus.”

In the first 30 days, 100,000 people are expected to be tested. The tests are available for symptomatic residents, anyone with close contacts of positive cases, or those in a congregate living setting.

Twenty testing sites will reportedly open in Indiana National Guard armories in the first seven days and an additional 30 sites will open in the following two weeks, for a total of 50 sites statewide. Testing will be administered at each location, Monday through Friday, for at least eight hours per day.

State officials say Columbus and Johnson County will each have its own testing site.
