Butlerville man arrested after stealing catalytic converter

NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop in Geneva Township for a traffic violation on Monday at around 6:45 p.m. The car was driven by Travis Groce, 40, of Butlerville.

During the pullover, law enforcement learned that the driver had a suspended license. When deputies searched the vehicle, they allegedly found a stolen catalytic converter, tools commonly used to steal catalytic converters, and methamphetamine.

Groce was taken into custody and transported to the Jennings County Jail. He is facing preliminary charges of possession of meth and theft of precious metals.
