Columbus receives Indiana Arts Commission grant

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) announced Thursday that it has awarded American Rescue Plan Act funds totaling $61,000 to 17 communities in Indiana. Columbus was named as one of the recipients.

Grants were distributed through the agency’s Creative Community Pathway program, which provides a roadmap for Indiana communities to start, focus, or deepen arts and culture-based strategies to grow community wellbeing. Funds were provided by Arts Midwest.

IAC Director Miah Michaelsen said, “This funding will support these 17 unique places as they leverage the arts to strengthen their communities and, in the process, contribute to Indiana’s future growth.”

Funds will support salaries; fees and stipends for artists; facilities and operational costs; health and safety supplies for staff and participants; and marketing and promotion expenses.
