COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded Monday evening to a man being shot at Sunny Brook Mobile Home Park, in Elizabethtown.
The victim, Don Brown, 52, of Elizabethtown, was found at around 6:30 p.m. with three gunshot wounds. He was flown by a medical helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment. Brown’s current condition is unknown.
Nearby, deputies located Ethan Sherfield, 21, of Nineveh. He was identified by witnesses at the scene as the alleged shooter and was detained, pending investigation. He was later remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of battery resulting in serious bodily injury and intimidation with a deadly weapon.
BCSO authorities say the investigation into the shooting is ongoing at this time.
