Courtes of CPD

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) welcomed Samuel Lucas, its newest officer, on Tuesday. He joined the ranks after being sworn in at Columbus City Hall by Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop.

Lucas is a graduate of Clay City High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice from IUPUC. While at IUPUC, he was an Indiana University cadet officer and later completed work at the IU police academy, becoming a certified law enforcement officer.

After orientation, he begins a CPD field training program.
