COVID cases continue to mount in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced that 16,502 new residents had been infected with coronavirus in its Wednesday update. It was the second time in the last week that the state topped the 16,000 mark. There have now been 1,490,496 Hoosiers who have contracted the disease since March 6, 2020. Indiana’s seven-day positivity rate remains at 30%.

During the pandemic, ISDH verifies that, overall, 19,761 Indiana citizens have died from the virus.

Bartholomew County totals 17,860 cases, Jackson County reports 10,425, Jennings County confirms 5,862, and Johnson County has had 37,906 COVID-19 cases over the last almost 23 months.
