COLUMBUS, Ind. – Thousands in Columbus continue to experience power outages due to severe thunderstorms on Thursday. Similar outages are prevalent across the state.

As of 9 a.m. on Friday, about 2000 Duke Energy customers in Columbus and Bartholomew County are still without power. In North Vernon the power remains out for 174 customers and in Brownstown, 380 customers do not have service. In Johnson County, about 3,000 Duke Energy customers do not have power.

Bartholomew County REMC reports on Friday at 9 a.m. a.m. that 116 of its customers still have no power.

Customers of Bartholomew County REMC should report outages at 1-800-927-5672 or through their SmartHub app. Remember to have the service address and account number ready for quick and accurate reporting.

Duke Energy customers can report their outage by texting OUT to 57801, reporting online, or calling 800-343-3525.
