COLUMBUS, Ind. – Starting Thursday, Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractor Force Construction will begin the removal of temporary structures underneath the I-65 bridge at State Road 46 in Columbus. Lane closures will occur.

Motorists can expect left lane closures on S.R. 46 and ramps at the I-65 interchange between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., on Thursday and Friday, July 27 and 28, and also on Monday, July 31.

Once the structures have been removed, traffic will return to its normal configuration. Overnight restrictions will be in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday of next week to replace pavement markings.

Starting Thursday evening, July 27, overnight lane restrictions begin on I-65 for pavement markings. The restrictions are expected nightly between mile markers 67 and 69, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

INDOT reminds motorists to slow down, use caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
