NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to a report of a serious accident on State Road 7, near Queensville, on Friday afternoon just before 5 p.m.
When deputies came upon the scene, they observed military medics providing care to a man who had been struck by a vehicle. He later succumbed to his injuries.
The initial investigative JCSO report said the victim, Ross Miller, was walking south along the west side of S.R. 7 when he tried to cross the highway and was struck by a southbound SUV driven by Bonnie Bryant, of Scipio.
Miller sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident. Bryant was transported to the hospital by EMS for evaluation.
At this point in the investigation, alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been a factor in the crash.
