COLUMBUS, Ind. – Residents can give back to the community during the annual United Way of Bartholomew County Day of Caring on May 17. It is a full-day volunteer event that connects local businesses and community members with non-profit agencies and organizations to complete needed work.

Approximately 400 volunteers are expected to fan out across the community to 21 organizations to make a positive difference in Bartholomew County. Various volunteer projects will be completed, including planting flowers, mulching, painting, organizing, and sorting donations.

Volunteers of all ages and skill levels can participate. Register through May 15 by going to uwbarthco.org and clicking, “Volunteer,” and “Day of Caring.”

“The Day of Caring is an extraordinary event that unites the community volunteers with impactful service projects in Bartholomew County,” said Alicia Monroe, Director of the Volunteer Action Center at United Way of Bartholomew County. “We are immensely thankful for the hundreds of volunteers who generously donate their time and effort to enhance our community.”
