COLUMBUS, Ind. – Otter Creek Golf Course, consistently ranked as one of the best public courses in the U.S. since its inception in 1964, announced Wednesday it will host the Otter Creek Championship as an Epson Tour event from June 10-16 in Columbus.

The Otter Creek Championship is the facility’s first professional event in over 25 years, following a successful run of hosting nearly 300 amateur events and championships over its 60-year history. It is one of two new tournaments added to the 2024 Epson Tour schedule and one of five with a $300,000 purse or more, making it one of the top events in this year’s Epson Tour season.

The week-long event will welcome 144 of the finest female players from over 30 countries to Columbus. They represent the next generation of talent who aspire to compete among the world’s best on the LPGA Tour. Local athletes, including Annabelle Pancake (Zionsville, Ind.), Cailyn Henderson (Westfield, Ind.), and Erica Shepherd (Greenwood, Ind.), will be featured in the field competing in the Otter Creek Championship.

Proceeds from the 2024 Otter Creek Championship will directly benefit Turning Point Domestic Violence Services, the event’s charitable beneficiary.

“We are excited to bring the Otter Creek Championship to Otter Creek Golf Course and give the amazing golf fans of Columbus and surrounding areas a chance to witness the future of the LPGA up close,” said Austin Wright, Director of Golf, Otter Creek.

The Epson Tour is the Official Qualifying Tour of the LPGA. In the last decade, it has grown from 15 tournaments and $1.6 million in prize money to 20 events with $5 million awarded. Over 600 Epson Tour graduates have won over 480 LPGA titles, including 14 major championships.

You can volunteer at the Otter Creek Championship. Over 100 volunteers are needed to ensure the event’s success, with roles spanning scoring, player services, and tournament operations.

A $60 registration fee to volunteer at the Otter Creek Championship will help benefit Turning Point Domestic Violence Services. Volunteers receive a tournament t-shirt, free parking, complimentary food and beverage, and behind-the-scenes access to the LPGA’s future stars.
