Celtic music program comes to Seymour library May 18

SEYMOUR, Ind. — The Friends of the Jackson County Public Library(JCPL)  is sponsoring a Celtic music program for all ages at the Seymour branch, on Saturday, May 18, starting at 1 p.m. It is open to the public and no registration is required.

Musical performers Emily Ann and Kelly Thompson previously entertained at the library as “Hybrid Strings.” The pair helped kick off the 2010 and 2011 summer reading programs.

One of this month’s free adult programs offered at all three JCPL branches is creating Pressed Flower Bookmarks.

There are three dates from which to choose:

  • May 20 at Seymour is full, but you can join the waitlist or attend one at the branches
  • May 24 at Crothersville (3 p.m.) has openings: register by May 22
  • May 28 at Medora (4 p.m.) has openings; register by May 23
The library also has free programs for teens in grades 6-12 at the Seymour branch:
  • Short Story Writing Workshop on Tuesday, May 7, at 5 p.m. with registration by May 3
  • Perler Bead Party on Tuesday, May 21, at 5 p.m. with registration by May 17
