NORTH VERNON, Ind. — The Campbell Township Volunteer Fire Department in North Vernon is holding a free Indiana Fire and Public Safety Academy course starting July 9. Classes are on weekdays from 6 to 10 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The course provides entry-level personnel with the required materials and skills in hazardous materials awareness and operations.

Students must have a PSID number and a device with wifi access to use Resource One software.

The course is at the Campbell Township Volunteer Fire Department, across the train tracks from Brush Creek Elementary in North Vernon.
