NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Trails were officially opened at The Quarry Adventure Park in North Vernon last week.
The Quarry Adventure Park is a park and trail that was renovated from the city’s potable water supply reservoir and a 160-acre former stone quarry purchased in 2015.
Phase 1 consisted of site clean-up, construction of a new “park” entrance with vehicular circulation, creation and development of walking and hiking trails.
Phase 2 includes construction of an inclusive playground, a 20-unit campsite (or Glampsite), a dog park, and more.
The project was made possible through the State of Indiana’s Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI), a statewide program launched in 2021. READI’s goal is to accelerate regional development and economic growth.
Enter and park at The Quarry Adventure Park, off Fourth Street across from Curry Drive. After parking, follow the sidewalks and signs.
