COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office found a local man guilty of Child Molestation on Wednesday, September 24.

After a 2-day trial by jury, Jason Danner was found guilty of Child Molesting, a Level 1 Felony. The investigation began in the fall of 2022, when instances of abuse were reported to the Columbus Police Department.

A jury trial was held on September 23-24, wherein the victim, family members of the victim, and members of the Columbus Police Department testified. After approximately 3 hours deliberating, the jury returned a verdict, finding Danner guilty.

Prosecutor Lindsey Holden-Kay commented, “These trials are never easy, but their hard work, preparation, and commitment to justice made all the difference. Most importantly, this verdict brings justice for a young victim and helps ensure our community is safer.”

The sentencing range for a Level 1 Felony is 20 – 40 years, with the advisory sentence being 30 years. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 23, 2025, in the Bartholomew Circuit Court.
