COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced upcoming short-term lane closures on the State Road 46 Robert N. Stewart Bridge over Flatrock River for routine bridge inspection work in Columbus.

Beginning on or after Monday, October 6, eastbound S.R. 46 will be reduced from three lanes to two lanes on the bridge into downtown Columbus.

Inspection crews will begin work in the right lane of S.R. 46 and complete the maintenance in the left lane. Work is expected to take up to four days, weather permitting.

Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All INDOT schedules are subject to change.
