COLUMBUS/FRANKLIN, Ind. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Indianapolis has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Bartholomew, Johnson, Shelby, and Decatur Counties from 11 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, December 13. This includes the cities of Columbus, Franklin, Edinburgh, Greenwood, Whiteland, Shelbyville, and Greensburg.

Heavy snow is expected with accumulations of between 4 and 6 inches. Isolated higher amounts are possible.

Motorists should plan on slippery roads. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions are available by calling 5 1 1.

Jackson, Jennings, and Brown Counties remain under a Winter Weather Advisory with 2 to 3 inches of snow on Saturday.

A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for south-central Indiana on Sunday and Sunday night. Arctic Air moves into south-central Indiana on Sunday with highs in the teens, lows around zero, and wind chills as low as (-10) degrees. NWS says milder temperatures will return to the area next week.
