COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Board of Public Works and Safety met on Tuesday to discuss matters related to the city, particularly related to flooding.
The Columbus Planning Department presented to the board an agreement with USGS for the funding of a pair of stream gauges, one at Driftwood river and another at Clifty Creek. The stream gauges will be able to help the city forecast and detect floods when water levels rise.
The total cost for the gauges is $16,000, the purchase of which the city planning department has already worked out in its budget. The board approved to sign off on the agreement.
