INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales announced that a local man, Dustin Renner, will become the Election Director for the office. He is the former Deputy Legislative Director with the Association of Indiana Counties and a Chief Deputy Clerk for Bartholomew County.
Renner will provide technical assistance to county clerks and the clerks’ association and will be representing the Secretary of State’s Office on the Statewide Voter Registration (SVRS) Core Team. He is responsible for working with Ball State University’s Voting System Technical Oversight Program (VSTOP) to help facilitate compliance with post-election audits and election equipment. He will assist with election-related legislation.
“I’m excited to have Dustin as part of our team in this Election Director role. His proven experience and prior developed relationships with county clerks make him an exceptional choice for this position,” said Indiana Secretary of State, Diego Morales.
The new Election Director embraced his new position immediately with his involvement in the County Clerk Working Groups and attending the Association of Indiana Counties Annual Conference. With less than two months until the Municipal Elections, Renner’s knowledge will be a major asset in Election Day preparedness and implementation.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the administration of Secretary of State Diego Morales. I am appreciative of his demonstrated commitment to support and engage with county clerks,” said Dustin Renner, Election Director.
