NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to a call in the vicinity of County Road 225W on Tuesday evening concerning a domestic disturbance involving the discharge of a firearm.

When deputies arrived around 9:45 p.m., they found a male, later identified as Daniel J. Hollin, in the middle of the roadway. He began throwing rocks at the patrol vehicle. JCSO said that despite numerous verbal warnings that a police K9 would be released if he did not comply, the suspect refused.

Sgt. John Amis deployed his K9 partner Dino and the police dog was able to assist in the apprehension and gain compliance. The man was taken into custody.

Hollin was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries. Following medical clearance, he was transported to Jennings County Jail and booked for Criminal Recklessness with a firearm (Level 6 Felony), Intimidation (Level 6 Felony), Intimidation of a Law Enforcement Officer (Level 5 Felony), plus Misdemeanor charges of Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer and Public intoxication. Hollin is being held on a $1,055 Bond.
