COLUMBUS, Ind. – A Columbus Walmart Supercenter store has reopened and four employees have been medically cleared following a small Freon leak at the Whitfield Drive store.
Columbus Fire Department firefighters and Columbus Regional Health EMS technicians were called to the store on Friday at around 11:30 a.m. after four employees said that they had discovered a refrigerant leak coming from one of the stockroom coolers.
Walmart officials said that the employees were sent to the hospital as a precautionary measure and the store was closed to ensure the safety of customers and employees.
The store reopened at approximately 4:30 p.m. after the refrigerant system was repaired.
