COLUMBUS, Ind. — Legal Aid District 11 is holding a Free Legal Aid Phone Clinic for residents of their eight-county district this Tuesday, May 14, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. You must register from noon to 2 p.m. that same day. The district includes Bartholomew, Johnson, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Rush, and Shelby Counties.
The Legal Aid Clinic and Pro Bono Indiana program uses local volunteer attorneys, offering free legal consultations to low-income individuals for legal advice in furtherance of equal access to justice within Indiana who might not otherwise be able to afford a lawyer.
Individuals calling the Legal Aid Phone Clinic can expect a brief consultation to answer general and eviction questions, offer legal information, or receive other limited pro se assistance.
Those seeking legal counsel during the phone clinic must register by calling Legal Aid District 11 at 812-378-0358 on Tuesday, May 14, between noon and 2 p.m. A volunteer attorney will return calls to registered individuals from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
