NORTH VERNON, Ind. – A Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputy conducted a traffic stop at around 6 a.m. on Sunday after witnessing a traffic violation and a registration violation near the Jennings County Court House.

While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed that William J. Kolb, 51, of Scipio, appeared to be intoxicated or on drugs. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and their K9 Edi were requested to respond and conduct a free-air sniff of the vehicle. It resulted in K9 Edi alerting them to the odor of illegal narcotics inside.

A search of the car was conducted where 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug-related items were allegedly located. The driver and passenger Kiesha S. Weiler, 31, of Columbus, were arrested and transported to the Jennings County Jail.

Kolb was charged with Possession of Meth (Level 4 Felony), Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (A-Misdemeanor), Possession of Paraphernalia (A-Misdemeanor), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (A-Misdemeanor), Invasion of Privacy (A-Misdemeanor), and Possession of Synthetic Urine (B-Misdemeanor).

JCSO says Weiler was booked for Possession of Meth (Level 4 Felony), Possession of Paraphernalia (A-Misdemeanor), and Visiting a Common Nuisance (A-Misdemeanor).
