COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced Thursday that it had awarded over $200 million in Community Crossings matching grants for local road and bridge projects across 245 Indiana cities, towns, and counties.
The City of Columbus and Bartholomew County will each receive $1.5 million of that funding. Other area counties and cities will get over $10 million combined.
Communities submitted applications for funding in January. Community Crossings funding comes from the state’s local road and bridge matching grant fund. Community Those grants have provided over $2 billion for local road improvement projects since 2016.
Here are the local cities and counties that were awarded grants and the amounts received.
- Columbus – $1.5 million
- Bartholomew County $1.5 million
- Seymour – $1.5 million
- Jackson County – $1.48 million
- North Vernon – $1.47 million
- Jennings County – $1.5 million
- Elizabethtown – $20,000
- Nashville – $314,000
- Brown County – $900,000
- Greensburg – $1.1 million
- Decatur County – $1.5 million
