COLUMBUS, Ind.– On Tuesday, June 10, the Columbus Board of Public Works and Safety unanimously approved an order to vacate or condemn a home at 372 Pence St.
The property’s owner has approximately 30 days to rehabilitate the two-bedroom/one bath house before it is legally condemned due to unsafe and unsanitary living conditions.
A previous attempt at rehabilitating the property was unsuccessful, and if it is legally deemed condemned, the home may be demolished following a future court order.
The tenants were notified that they have 30 days to vacate the property. The United Way of Bartholomew County is giving them assistance and resources to find another home.
