NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The North Vernon Police Department (NVPD) and the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) apprehended an escaped suspect with the assistance of K9 Brock.
Casey Alhecami escaped the custody of the North Vernon Police Department while at St. Vincent Hospital. NVPD requested the assistance from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, and Sgt. Michael Watts, along with K9 Brock, responded to assist in locating the fugitive. It was determined that Casey was hiding in the attic of a house on Meadow Lane.
Despite repeated commands, Alhecami refused to surrender. K9 Brock was deployed into the attic and successfully apprehended Alhecami.
Alhecami was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the apprehension.
He was later released into police custody on preliminary charges of:
- WOW – Felony
- Escape – LVL 5 Felony
- Resisting arrest- misdemeanor
All Suspects are innocent unless proven guilty
