COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD)  arrested two men after an early morning gas station robbery on Monday, August 25.

Columbus Police Officers were called to a gas station in the 3600 block of West Jonathan Moore Pike. Responding officers gathered that two males had approached the store together. One male opened the door as the other entered with his face covered. Once inside, the man broke the glass on a display case near the front counter that contained vapes and cartridges, frightening the clerk behind the counter. He then grabbed an estimated $600 worth of merchandise and the two took off running from the store.

Local law enforcement officers flooded the area looking for the two. A Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy found two men matching the description behind a dumpster at a nearby hotel. They were identified as Roger Fisher, 21, and Patrick Halstead, 23, both of Indianapolis.

Detectives were called to the scene and gather more evidence indicating Fisher and Halstead were the culprits. Both were arrested for the preliminary charge of robbery, as a level 5 felony. They remain in the Bartholomew County Jail.
