North Vernon man arrested for alleged child molestation, dealing meth to minors

NORTH VERNON, Ind. –The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) arrested a North Vernon man on charges of child molestation and dealing methamphetamine on Thursday, December 4.

The investigation began after allegations were reported involving two separate victims, ages 16 and 13. During a forensic interview at a child advocacy center, the juvenile victims disclosed information regarding criminal sexual acts. 48-year-old Michael Kuhlman of North Vernon confessed to giving alcohol and methamphetamine to minors, as well as confirming details from allegations made against him.

Kuhlman was arrested following an investigation into allegations involving two juvenile victims and was booked on the following preliminary charges:
• 1 Count – Level 1 Felony Child Molesting
• 1 Count – Level 4 Felony Incest
• 2 Counts – Level 4 Felony Sexual Battery
• 1 Count – Level 4 Felony Dealing Methamphetamine

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
