COLUMBUS, Ind. – Clifty Creek Elementary School and the Legado Spanish Immersion Academy were recognized Monday with the IUPUC Excellence in Diversity Award. Maestra Patio and Pea accepted the tribute on behalf of the school and the academy.
The award honors demonstrated commitment and outstanding efforts toward creating a diverse and inclusive community. Each year, IUPUC recognizes one campus and one community initiative. Recipients can be individuals, organizations, groups, projects, or institutions.
The Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) says it is proud of Clifty Creek Elementary School and the Legado Spanish Immersion Academy. The award is presented each January during the university’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.
