Alisha Roberts Insurance Agency Launches “Protect Those Who Protect Us” Community Initiative

HOPE, Ind. — In January 2026 , Alisha Roberts Insurance Agency launched Protect Those Who Protect Us, a new community initiative pledging $1,000 each month to support a local volunteer fire department. Alisha Roberts is excited to have helped four other area volunteer fire departments this year. Most recently Hartsville Community & VFD and Clay Township VFD. The May 2026 pledge will benefit the Hope Volunteer Fire Department.

The initiative honors volunteer firefighters who risk their lives to protect the community, often with limited resources while balancing full-time jobs and family responsibilities.

“Many people don’t realize the true cost of protecting a community,” said Alisha Roberts. “A single pair of fireproof boots or gloves can cost $500, and it can take as much as $20,000 to train and fully equip one volunteer firefighter. While local taxes, state funding, and federal grants help, local fundraising is essential—and many traditional efforts don’t go as far today.”

Funds from the monthly pledge may help offset the cost of essential equipment, safety gear, training, and operational needs. In many communities, volunteer fire departments have historically relied on fundraisers such as fish fries, serving breakfast, and community events, which have seen declining participation and revenue in recent years.

Each month, a different local volunteer fire department will be recognized.

Community members who would like to learn more about how they can support their local volunteer fire department are encouraged to contact Alisha Roberts at (812) 669-2410, email alisha@agentalisha4u.com, or visit www.agentalisha4u.com
