COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Friends of Columbus Animal Care Services (FCACS) invite the community to saddle up and ride once again to benefit Columbus Animal Care Services (CACS). Registration is now open for the 2026 Moonlight Loop 19-mile evening bike ride through Columbus, Indiana. The ride will take place on Saturday, August 22, at 9 p.m. and will start and finish at the Bartholomew County Library Plaza.
The registration fee is $35 per rider, now through June 30th. The registration fee will increase to $40 from July 1st to August 21st and will be $45 for those who register the day of the event.
To register for the ride, go to: https://raceroster.com/events/2026/119557/2026-moonlight-loop .
The Moonlight Loop is a police-led, SAG-supported night bike ride. The roads will not be closed to
traffic, so riders need to obey all the rules of the road. In addition, riders are required to wear helmets
and have both a working headlight and taillight on their bikes. Even though the Moonlight Loop a ride
and NOT a race, participants should be able to maintain a pace of at least 10mph, to keep riders
from getting too spread out on the route.
Participants under the age of 16 are not allowed to ride alone, but can participate by riding on a tandem or on a bike attachment with someone 16 or older.
