EDINBURGH, Ind. – Edinburgh Fire and Rescue, along with four other fire departments, was called to a structure fire at MacBeath Hardwood Company, 320 North Kyle St., in Edinburgh, at around 6:15 on Wednesday evening.

Firefighters found a working blaze on the roof of the building and also in a large silo that feeds a boiler. Power to the building was secured and hot spots inside the building were extinguished.

Assisting agencies included fire departments from German Township, Amity, Nineveh, and Bargersville. The Edinburgh Police Department and Seals Ambulance Service in Franklin also responded.

No injuries were reported and no damage estimate was provided. During the fire, a motorist drove over a section of one of the department’s supply lines damaging the hose and making it unusable. Authorities warn to stay clear of emergency scenes.
