FRANKLIN, Ind. - The city of Franklin is accepting applications for the 2026 Volunteer of the Year Award. It is presented to individuals who have displayed outstanding volunteer service in the community within the last 12 months.
Many people stepped up in 2025 to help in the community, and the City wants to recognize their efforts.
For their extraordinary efforts, award recipients will receive city-wide recognition, their names engraved on a plaque in City Hall, and achievement certificates. The winner will be announced via social media and at an upcoming meeting of the Franklin City Council.
This award was created to recognize the extensive hours that volunteers contribute to ensuring the continued success of the community. Often, these efforts are behind the scenes and go without recognition.
The Volunteer Award was named after a Franklin couple, Marty and Carolyn Williams, honoring the time, energy, and effort they gave to ensure events ran smoothly. Volunteers deserve an opportunity to be recognized for their service.
