WHITELAND, Ind. - The Town of Whiteland's seasonal curbside leaf pickup began last week and will continue through December.
Public Works makes at least one trip around town limits per week during the season, with additional pickups possible during peak periods.
Here are some basic guidelines about the leaf pickup:
- Citizens should rake loose leaves parallel to the road edge in a row no wider than 5 feet
- Do not bag the leaves or put or rake them into the street, onto sidewalks, or over drainage structures.
- Keep leaves free of trash, limbs, brush, rocks, and other yard waste
- Avoid parking vehicles on the road near the leaves
- Parents should remind children not to play in leaf piles
